If you'd told me years ago Stan Lee would be my boss for over a decade...

... I would not have believed you! After a number of years illustrating comic books for DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image and many other publishers, I had not once interacted with Stan "The Man" Lee except to see him in passing at a convention we were both guests at, usually while he was mobbed by eager fans. Then one day, a job posting came up on craigslist, of all places - looking for potential contestants for a new proposed cable show called "Stan Lee's 'Who Wants To Be A Superhero'?". I rightly assumed that, if they intended to make a series about comic book characters they might need comic styled art, so I sent a note and asked the casting director to forward my information to their producers. Much to my surprise, an hour later I received a panicked phone call from said producer, excitedly asking how soon I could be in his office! After creating art for the pilot and two hit seasons of "Superhero" as well as numerous development projects, a comic series for the NHL and even a feature film, after all the lunches and staff meetings and autograph sessions, after all he taught me... I still don't quite believe it! Click on the picture below to see part of the first episode of "Who Wants To Be A Superhero?"!
